The Avocado Cafe provides a range of avocado dips and inspired dishes to London’s finest food markets. The business first traded in April 2013 at The Great Brixton Bakeoff after running a series of tasting sessions. Founded by Louise Maddy, The Avocado Café is a 2013 First Pitch Finalist, a scheme run by the National Market Trader’s Federation. Louise has worked full time on the business since June 2013, when she left her job in Finance in the City of London. The avocado dip range comprises of five different flavours; lime pickle, pickled beetroot, tzatziki, hummus and guacamole. The business also provides a range of food to eat on the go, including salad boxes, bruschettas and fishcakes.

Ole-Martin Hansen’s smokehouse in Stoke Newington uses Scottish salmon, which arrives early in the morning and is salted, cured and cold-smoked using a blend of juniper and beech wood. Often quoted as the best smoked salmon available in London, each Hansen & Lydersen salmon is carefully hand-filleted and hand-salted according to a family recipe devised by Norwegian fishmonger Lyder-Nilsen Lydersen in 1923.

Monty’s Deli Jewish soul food has been a regular and much talked about fixture on the Ropewalk since the beginning. Owner Mark makes everything from scratch, from the wonderfully soothing chicken soup with matzo balls to the incredibly delicious and tender Pastrami and Salt Beef. Every week 40kg of beef brisket is delivered and then brined for 6 days in Monty’s secret recipe cure. The Pastrami is then rubbed with a blend of spices and carefully smoked in an outdoor coal smoker for around seven hours. The sandwiches are hand-sliced and heavy-loaded New York style, and judging by the long queues, extremely sought after too.
Une Normande a Londres provide an extensive range of quality artisan cheese, cured meats and preserves from France.
Run by the best jamon carvers in London (Zac and Chuse), the Tozino market stall offers Spanish cheese, cured meats and jamon carved to order. Look beyond the stall though and you’ll find London’s first jamon bodega hidden under the railway arch. Platters of jamon and cheese are offered alongside traditional dishes such as tortilla de patata, migas a la pastora and sobrasada with honey. And of course there’s cava, sherry, wine and Moritz beer on tap. With experience cutting ham for Ferrán Adria and the Spanish Royal Family, Tozino also offers professional carving for events.

For early birds they serve breakfast waffles (think dry cure bacon with maple syrup or home-cured salmon served with lemon crème fraiche), and for the sweeter tooth there are deliciously fruity options and cheeky chocolate sauces.
